WebinarJam: Embed Registration Page Button

This Article is for WebinarJam and EverWebinar

For a variety of reasons, you may wish to create a registration page on a site other than WebinarJam. With WebinarJam and EverWebinar you have the option to create a page on your own website by embedding a registration button for the webinar.

NOTE: If the button and popup do not look like Embed Button and Popup below, there is likely a compatibility issue with your website. This could be conflicting Javascripts, CSS or other codes. We strongly recommend in this case that you use one of our registration forms.

NOTE: Visitor analytics are not collected when using your own pages. If you want analytics on how many people see your page, we strongly recommend that you use one of our registration forms.

NOTE: We want to help your webinar succeed, so be sure to check Webinar Registration Page Tips.

Creating a Custom URL Instead

You also have the option to use a redirect which will change the URL to something simpler.

Read about creating custom URLs.

Create Your Own Custom Registration Page

Your first step is to create a registration page so you can get the custom registration page URL.

You can use a variety of different programs like WordPress, Joomla, HTML, etc... but in order to add the Custom Embed Registration Button, you will need to be able to switch to HMTL to add the code.

How to Set up Registration on Your Own Website

If you have already created a webinar, select Edit. If you have not created a webinar, start setting one up.

  • Under New Webinar, go to Registration (See Below)
  • Choose Registration Page and Process

  1. Select "Your Own Custom Design" (Marked #1 Below)
  2. Paste the URL of your Registration Page (Marked #2 below)
  3. Save
  4. Press Confirm on the section. It will be GREEN when everything is correct.

Get the Embed Registration Button Code

Finish setting up your webinar. Then go to My Webinars.

Click "Your Links" on the webinar you want to set up.

NOTE: If you use the code under "Test Your Webinar" people will not actually be registered for your webinar. Be sure to click "Your Links".

You should be on Invite People to Your Webinar, but if not, be sure to click it!

Click "Embed Registration Code" (Marked #1 Below).

Copy the full code inside the box.

Inserting the Registration Button Code

Insert that HTML code as text on your webpage.

Most Websites

To ensure your page works on mobile devices please add this code to your header.

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

Most WordPress Themes are mobile friendly, so the above code may not be necessary.

If it is, you'll want to add the code to your header.php. To add the code to your WordPress page, click the Text Tab and it will switch to HTML Mode. Insert the code as seen below under "Button 1". If the button or registration form does not look as it does in the Embed Button section below, then either your plugins or your theme is interfering with our codes.

You can test to see which plugin is interfering, or use an alternative website or our registration pages.

How Will the Embed Button Look?

The Embed Button will look similar to above. If the button looks different, then there is likely CSS (design code) conflicting with our button.

When your registrants click the button, they should see a form similar to the one displayed below. If this does not popup and cover your page (light box effect), then there is likely a javascript issue.

This is the same form as when you use our registration pages. This webinar offers attendees a choice of dates. Learn more about Webinar Series.

Inserting a 2nd Registration Button

If you'd like the button to appear more than once on your page, then all you want is <div style="margin:auto;width:300px;"> to </div></div>  Please note you need both </div> links (marked in yellow in the image above). The rest of the places you'd like for a button to appear, you can insert this part of the code (specific to your webinar).

Changing the Registration Button

You can change the text on the button by changing the text between the span tags from <span>Register now</span> to <span>Join this webinar</span> . The Registration button is built with a CSS coding, so other changes to the button require a programmer.
