How to Integrate Facebook Pixels with WebinarJam

This article is for: WebinarJam Studio Users

NOTE: Please Use the Embed Your Custom Tracking Code to insert the Facebook Pixel Code.

Facebook and similar programs are always changing.

In this article we're going to cover both the new Facebook pixel and the "old" Facebook pixel for those who are still using it.

While we recommend that you use Embed Your Custom Tracking Code we understand some people still want to use this option.

Note: Please use Https for links.

New Facebook Pixel

Finding Your "New" Facebook Tracking ID

Rather than add the pixel code to the Facebook Button, you will be adding the whole code to the Embed Your Custom Tracking Code  right beside the Facebook Pixel.

Your first step will be to Create a Facebook Pixel.  We recommend reading How to Create a Facebook Conversion Pixel from Facebook.

The above link will also tell you how to view your pixel code, however all you actually need is the Pixel ID.

You can get Your Pixel ID easily when you can go to your Facebook Ad Manager. (often you will just see it to the right without doing steps 1 and 2 (see Marked #3 Below)

  1. Click Tools. (Marked #1 Below)
  2. then Pixels (Marked #2 Below)
  3. Your pixel ID code will show up on the right or as a list which will show the pixel name and the ID code under the name. Or click the "Create Pixel" button

Add the New Facebook Pixel to WebinarJam or EverWebinar

  1. Go to Integrations (Marked #1 Below)
  2. Click the pencil beside "Integrate a 3rd party Tracking System" (Marked #2 Below)
  3. Choose Embed Your Custom Tracking Code  from the tracking choices. (Marked #3 Below)

In the new window you can add your Facebook code, to any of the pages listed below!

  • Registration page tracking
  • Post-registration Thank You page tracking
  • Webinar live room page tracking
  • Replay page tracking

Save then press Save on the "Integrate 3rd Party Tracking" page (Marked #1 on the Integration Image). "Proceed to the next Step" should now be green. Press it.

Verify Your Pixel

To Verify Your Pixel, you'll simply need to go to your webinar, register and go to the Thank you page.  This should verify your pixel, but you won't see it on your Facebook analytics.  You'll need to create custom conversion.

Create a Custom Conversion

Next you want to create a custom conversion, which will track specific actions people take on your website. Read the article by Facebook on How to Create a Custom Conversion on Facebook

On the Create Custom Conversion page you'll create a custom conversion. Then add part of the URL from your webinar related to an event, to create "URL Contains". So if you wanted to track "complete registration" you'd use the thank URL. A Lead might be those who visit your registration page.

NOTE: This are PARTIAL webinar URLs, you want to use "URL Contains" as these webinar URLs will have additional identification codes.

NOTE: Replace Member ID with your Member ID and the Webicode with your webinar's webicode. The MemberID stays the same for all your webinars. Your Webicode will change for each webinar. To Get your Member ID and Webicode, Go to My Webinars

  1. Under "Ready to Get Started" press "Go Live"
  2. Confirm the popup says "Webinar Live"
  3. Under "Invite People to your Webinar" is your registration page URL.  The number after "https://app.webinarjam.net/register/" is your Member ID the number after the "/" is your Webinar's Webicode. Be sure to use https, not http.

Be Sure to use httpS:// the s means it is a secure, and works with our program.

Replace them in the URLs below.

  • REGISTRATION: https://app.webinarjam.net/register/MemberID/Webicode
  • THANK YOU: https://app.webinarjam.net/thankyou/Webicode
  • LIVE: https://app.webinarjam.net/live/MemberID/Webicode
  • REPLAY: https://app.webinarjam.net/replay/MemberID/Webicode

Using the "Old" Conversion Pixel

Finding Your "Old" Facebook Tracking ID

While we recommend that you use Embed Your Custom Tracking Code we understand some people still want to use this option.

If you'd prefer using the old conversion pixel, you can. You'll need to visit your Facebook Ad manager
  1. Click Tools
  2. In the Drop Down Choose Pixels.
  3. Click Conversion Tracking Pixel (Old)
  4. Under the Pixel name will be the ID you need.
  5. If you need to create one you can from the far right.

Add the "Old" Facebook Pixel to WebinarJam and EverWebinar

  1. Go to Integrations (Marked #1 Below)
  2. Click the pencil beside "Integrate a 3rd party Tracking System" (Marked #2 Below)
  3. Choose Facebook from the tracking choices. (Marked #3 Below)

Embed on The Correct Page

While you have four options for where to add your Facebook pixel, you don't want them on every page. This will defeat the purpose of the code and can cause problems. So where do you put them?

Tracking Leads

If you want to track leads, then you would put your Facebook Conversion pixel on the Registration page. However not every one of those people will register for your webinar, so your numbers on Facebook's conversion would be higher than the number of people who actually signed up.

Tracking Different Conversions

If you want to track how many register, then you want the "Post-Registration Thank you" page. And if you want to track how many actually attend your event you may want the "Live webinar room" and/or the "Webinar Replay Room."

What if it's not working?

Our software works well with Facebook Pixels.  But here are some tips.

Save, Register and Wait!

Be sure you have saved the Facebook Pixel, confirmed the 3rd Party Integration, and Proceed to the next steps, (this published the webinar) after you entered the FB data. Then, register for the event. Facebook only verifies the pixel when the Registration and Thank You pages have a visitor, which only happens when someone registers for the event.

Once you do that, it can take a few hours for Facebook to catch up with the info and show that the pixel was verified. So if you register tonight, you'll see it's verified by morning.

Additional Help with the Pixel Helper

But you can download an application from the Chrome Web Store which will help you diagnose issues with your Facebook pixel on WebinarJam and any other site as well.

For this, you will need to use the Chrome browser. Visit Facebook Pixel Helper in the Chrome Store.

Select Free, Then Add, This will add a small blue box with </>

When a website has a FB pixel installed the </> icon will turn blue and a small badge will appear indicating the number of pixels found on the page.

Click on the box to view log conversion or see if there are any issues.

For many issues, like the one above, are self-explanatory.  For other issues visit Facebook Pixel Troubleshooting.
