EverWebinar - How to Add a Video from Amazon S3

This article is for: Legacy EverWebinar Users (Customers who joined prior to Sept 2017)

 

Do you store your videos on Amazon S3?   You can use MP4 videos stored on Amazon S3 on EverWebinar, but the trick is getting the permissions set correctly!

Visit Amazon AWS (Amazon Web Services)

Visit aws.amazon.com/ to see a list all of the Amazon Web Services Available.  

  • Click "Sign into your Console" Under the subtitle "Storage & Content Delivery"
  • Click S3 Scalable Storage in the Cloud . (Marked with an Arrow Below)

Create a Bucket

This will take you to your S3 storage. If you already have a bucket you want to use, skip this section.
  • Click "Create Bucket" in the upper left corner (Marked #1 Below)
  • Create a bucket name. It needs to be unique and use only lower case letters (Marked #2 Below)
  • You can choose a region from the drop down (Marked #3 Below)
  • Click "Next" (Marked #4 Below)

Upload Your Video

Click the bucket you wish to use... 
  • Click upload from the upper left corner (Marked #1 Below)
  • Click add files to add your MP4 Video (Marked #2 Below)
  • Click next (Marked #3 Below)

Setting your S3 Video Permissions

After you click next, you'll be taken to a screen to set your video permissions. 
  • Click "Read" next to Everyone (Marked #1 Below)
  • Click Next (Marked #2 Below)

Setting Your S3 Video Properties

When you click "Next" you will be taken to properties. A program like S3 Browser can help with uploading and setting content type.
  • Scroll down to "Metadata"
  • Under Headers, in the drop down pick "Content-Type" (Marked #1 Below)
  • For the value type "video/mp4" (Marked #2 Below)
  • Click Save (Marked #3 Below)
  • Click Next

Review

When you click "Next" you will be taken to a screen to review your video.
  • Click edit to check settings (Marked #1 Below)
  • Be sure the metadata says "video/mp4" (Marked #2 Below)
  • Click Upload (Marked #3 Below)

Now that you've got the permissions set up, you need your S3 link.
  • If you aren't on the right video, click the video (Marked #1 Below)
On this screen, you'll be able to see some of your video settings
  • Scroll down and copy the link under the word "Link". (Marked #1 Below)
  • If you need to change Permissions and Properties.(Marked #2 Below)

Adding to EverWebinar

Adding an External File EverWebinar

Now that you have the URL, go to EverWebinar.  Select a new Webinar, and you'll be taken to the Configuration Screen.  

  • Click the Pencil beside "Source of your Evergreen Webinar." (Marked #1 Below)
  • Click "An External Video File (Marked #2 Below)
  • Add the URL you got from Amazon s3 (Marked #3 Below)
  • Add the Duration of your video (Marked #4 Below)
  • Then Confirm (Marked #5 Below)

Replace a Previous WebinarJam Session

You can also replace a previous a previous WebinarJam session with a Amazon S3 Video
  • Click the Pencil beside "Source of your Evergreen Webinar." (Marked #1 Below)
  • Click "A previous WebinarJam Live Session" (Marked #2 Below)
  • Choose the webinar and session (Marked #3 Below)
  • Click the Read More (Marked #4 Below)

 

In the PopUp that appears:

  • Check "Activate an alternate video file to avoid using YouTube's video player" (Marked #1 Below)
  • Add the URL you got from Amazon S3 (Marked #2 Below)
  • Save (Marked #3 Below)
