How can I play music during my webinar?
If you wish to play music during your webinar, we strongly urge playing your own compositions, or using unlicensed recordings.
If you use either YouTube Live for your Webinar Provider, there are strict policies within their terms of use regarding playing any music with a copyright. This can result in your audio or video being removed from their services.
JamCast may be the best option if you want to play music on your webinar.
The Easiest Option
The easiest option is to add music to prerecorded video, then allow that to play.
- See our article on PreRecorded Videos for more information.
Please be aware these videos still face YouTube's fair use limit of 10 seconds for music with a copyright, Facebook allows copyright owners to decide on settings.
The Speaker Version
Alternatively you could allow the music to play on your speakers.
This means it will require your microphone to pick up the sound and depending on your microphone the quality will vary. Your microphone may not pick up audio at all, your microphone may pick up background noise and not the audio, or may corrupt the audio.
Please be aware audio may still face YouTube's fair use limit of 10 seconds for music with a copyright, and YouTube may remove all the audio from your video and even the whole video in some cases. Facebook allows copyright owners to decide on settings.
Third Party Program
You can use a third party program to mix in music, however we can not offer support on how to use them or guarantee their function. Some of our users recommend
- VoiceMeeter for the PC
- SoundFlower for the Mac.
