How Did my Attendee Register in the Future?

This article is for: Legacy WebinarJam Users (Customers who joined prior to Sept 2017)

I know it seems like it... but no, your registrant did not use a time machine to register in the future.  The registration is not based on the time where they are nor on the time of the webinar.  The registration time is based on the server's time, which is on UTC time.

What is UTC time?

UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the primary time standard by which the world regulates clocks and time and does not observe daylight saving time. It is one of several closely related successors to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For most purposes, UTC is considered interchangeable with GMT, but GMT is no longer precisely defined by the scientific community.

What is the Current UTC time?

So when did my registrant register?

You can do some simple math to figure out when they registered by comparing the local time to the UTC time.  That link will show you the current time and the UTC time.  So if you are -5 hours, you would simply subtract 5 hours from their registration time to see what time they registered.
